AI matching is one of the most distinctive features of CasualHire. Here's a plain-English explanation of what happens behind the scenes.
What information does the AI read? For employer matching: your complete job description including required skills, experience level, shifts and pay range, the job location, and every candidate profile within 50km. For candidate matching: your complete profile matched against open jobs within 50km.
How is the match score calculated? Skills match (35%) — Does the candidate have the specific skills the job requires? Location and distance (20%) — Closer candidates score higher. Experience level (20%) — Does the candidate's experience match requirements? Availability (15%) — Do the candidate's available shifts match the job's shifts? Pay compatibility (10%) — Is the job's pay rate above the candidate's minimum?
Why you won't see matches under 50% CasualHire filters out any match below 50%. A 45% match might mean the candidate has the right location but entirely wrong skills. Showing those results would waste everyone's time.
What the AI explains Each result includes a natural language explanation: "Strong match — your RSA certification and 4 years of bar experience align well with this role. Located 3.2km away, paying $35-42/hr which meets your minimum rate."
